Jacquetta is made of Italian satin viscose, and it was so ease and comfortable to wear. I loved it for its simplicity, and as I got married abroad wanted something light and that I could move around in all day and night.
The bodice features a fully structured corset over which the satin drapes to form a gentle gather and cowl detailed, low scooped neckline. There is an internal strap so the corset can be worn a bit tighter or looser. The straps are made using a 1970’s twisting technique and they fall to form long draping streamers that extend to the full length of the train. The skirt is cut with a high waist on a gentle curve and falls in an elegant column silhouette at the front.
No alterations were made to the dress aside from cups inserted (I am a 36c) and it was made to a size 10. I am 5ft6 and wore 3 inch heels. A bustle was added under the train and two invisible loops were added to the streamers so they could be bustled up but can also be tied in a bow or looped knot. I didn’t order the sleeves as it was a summer wedding abroad.
It been professionally dry cleaned and in excellent condition. I would love to see it get another day out. Happy to send more photos if requested.
